Some of the finest fishing and hunting in the state are found at Red Willow Reservoir SRA, and the area has excellent facilities for camping and water-oriented recreation. Red Willow Reservoir SRA offers 4,320 acres of land around a 1,628-acre lake. Camping, swimming, picnicking, and water recreation are very popular at Red Willow.

Red Willow Reservoir SRA offers campers Electric Plus, Electric, Basic and Primitive campsites. There are 48 camping pads with 30- and 50-amp electrical hookups, with access to showers and a dump and fill station. Willow View Campground also offers a panoramic view of the lake.

All camping is first-come, first-served and campers register their nightly camping fees in a raised, locked box called an iron ranger. Self-service envelopes are provided at each iron ranger station. Check or cash only. Iron rangers are generally located near the park entrance or in the campground area. On-site camping informational signs are provided to help guide campers with the self-registration process.

Red Springs Mission Camp is a 52,000 square foot facility operated by Baptists on Mission. The facility can house up to 200 mission volunteers. The purpose of the Mission Camp is to provide a place where volunteers can use their God-given skills to touch lives in Jesus' name. There are a wide variety of projects from the renovation of existing homes, VBS, working with schools, elderly homes, etc. in and around Robeson County. Working with local government, local churches, and other individuals, projects are identified by the camp leadership and preparations made for each team's service. Other evangelistic and outreach ministry opportunities may be set up as well with prior arrangement with the Mission Camp director.

Coordinator Larry Osborne and his wife Teresa Osborne provide leadership at the Red Springs Mission Camp. Larry and Teresa live and work at the camp. An important part of their job includes building relationships with people in the area. Their service make things run smoother for the volunteer teams.

Some Practical Information: A daily $21 per person fee covers lodging, 3 meals, and supplemental volunteer insurance. Work days are Monday-Saturday. No supper is provided on Saturday night and the camp is closed on Sundays. You can come for any amount of days. Teams will need to bring their own tools (some tools can be provided), their own bedding and a cooler with water (if desired). Participants must be 13 years or older. Youth groups must have a 1:4 ratio of adult to youth.

Camp Ross offers a variety of programs and opportunities for Webelos and Arrow of Lights to enjoy throughout the summer camping season. Programs like BB Guns, Archery, Lake Swimming, and Nature are all offered at Camp Ross. We provide you with an activities schedule for Monday and Tuesday and you create your own schedule for Wednesday-Friday.

There is no fee for these courses and no online registration required. For more information on the training offered by the camp staff, please check out the program materials in the downloads section below or contact your Camp Director.

Every year, volunteers from the National Capital Area Training Committee offer training sessions for adult leaders at Goshen camps at no additional cost. Past training sessions have included IOLS and BSLST. Not all training sessions are offered each week.

Availability indicates if new units are able to register for a specific week of camp. If your unit has already reserved a week at camp then your Goshen coordinator will be able to add campers as space allows.

Camp Marriott offers camping for 300 participants and includes an extensive aquatics program including sailing, canoeing, kayaking, rowing, and the ever popular water sports merit badge. Also of note is our ecology area, where there is an ever-changing zoo to showcase the flora and fauna of Goshen. Camp Marriott is located near great hiking trails, and offers the option of Patrol Cooking or Heater Stack dining options.

Attend camp as an individual. Scouts who have found that their units are not signed up for camp, cannot attend with their Troop, or Scouts who want to attend a second week are eligible to attend Camp Marriott as a Provisional camper.

Patrols pick up ingredients from the commissary and prepare the food for their patrol in their campsite. This is a great option for units tired of Dining Hall songs and looking for more opportunities to use the Patrol Method, wanting more unit time in their campsite, and hankering for greater influence and creativity with their food.

All meat, except bacon, is pre-cooked. The camp provides cook kits, but feel free to bring your own. The camp also has two burner propane stoves and propane tanks, both of which are available for checkout from the Camp Quartermaster. Cooking instructions are provided.

Patrols pick up pre-prepared meals and eat them in their site. This is the hybrid option, for those looking for a dining experience that is not quite a Dining Hall, but not quite Patrol Cooking. Like a Dining Hall, you do not have to cook your own food. Like Patrol Cooking, you get to eat meals in your campsite and hang out with your friends.

Units will be assigned campsites with Patrol sub-sites for the number of patrols they have. Each Patrol site has an area for food preparation and eating with a picnic table and a chuckbox. The area is covered by double canvas tarps.

A small team of editors, writers and researchers at the Museum, plus hundreds of volunteers and scholars from around the world, began working on the Encyclopedia in 1999.
